If you are staying in Barcelona, a trip to the beautiful resort of Sitges is well worth it, time permitting. Sitges is just a 40 minutes drive from the centre of Barcelona and we are happy to provide transportation and customise a day for you to remember in this unique town.
Sitges is known as the St Tropez of Spain and a jewel in the Mediterranean crown, due to its beautiful, spotless beaches, palm tree lined promenade, wonderful tiny streets full of individual boutiques and a great selection of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets.
Modern Sitges, preserving important references from the Middle Ages and the old farmers’ and fishermen’s town, offers visitors an impressive architectural and cultural heritage, the result of initiatives by artists, cultural energizers and patrons like Santiago Rusiñol, Ramon Casas, Miquel Utrillo or Charles Deering. Thanks to them, Sitges was a reference point for writers, musicians and other intellectuals and became an important centre for disseminating Modernism and the "Americanos", who, after returning with their "fortune" from their American adventure, commissioned large mansions from Modernist and Noucentista (post Art Nouveau) architects.
There are museums and galleries to visit and we can organise guided tours or walks around the old quarter of the town and, of course, stop off for that all important glass of vino and some local tapas.
In addition, a stroll along the promenade, admiring the lovely palm trees, taking in the fresh air of the Mediterranean can provide a welcoming contrast to the hussle and bustle of the city streets of Barcelona.
Whilst visiting Sitges, you may like to consider a wine tour of one of the leading vineyards situated just 25 minutes inland and a treat for wine lovers. We can plan a day around your tastes and budget.
