An hour and fifteen minute drive from Sitges, west of Barcelona, Montserrat offers breathtaking scenery and people travel from afar to see this treasure of Catalonia. The views are simply stunnng and the whole experience of a visit to Montserrat will remain with you forever.

Montserrat" literally means "jagged (serrated) mountain" in Catalan. It describes the peculiar aspect of the rock formation, which is visible from a great distance. The mountain is composed of strikingly pink conglomerate, a form of sedimentary rock, popular with climbers. The Caribbean island of Montserrat is named after the mountain.

Looming 1236 meters (4055 ft) over the valley floor, Montserrat, the highest point of the Catalan lowlands, stands central to the most populated part of Catalonia. The massive conglomerate stone monolith is ideally located to play an important role in the cultural and spiritual life of Catalonia.

The Basilica houses a museum that is packed with works of art by a long list of prominent painters and sculptors including works by El Greco, Dalí, Picasso and many more.

As with all our excursions, we can offer you a guided tour, by a professional local guide, which carries a surcharge, alternatively, you may wish to just explore the area at your leisure. At the top of the mountain is a small village with restaurants and shops in addition to the marvellous monastery.

Pitch and Putt

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon or mornings golf, on a sunny day in Catalonia! We pick you up from your hotel/apartment and take you to the picturesque course, which is only a 25 minute drive from Sitges into the countryside.

After checking in and collecting your clubs, you can enjoy 9 or 18 holes at your leisure. The course is set in the beautiful Penedes region of Catalonia with breathtaking views of the mountains and countryside, surrounding the course.

Don’t worry, even if you are a novice, we can give you basic tuition on the driving range before the game. This course is just great for those who have never played golf before and wish to try it out. Novices and experienced players are most welcome and it won’t cost you the earth.

All the equipment is supplied for you and there is a nice bar/restaurant available for you to relax in, after the game!

As a further option, very near to the course is a beautiful lake with stunning views and a very typical Catalan restaurant where you can enjoy a typical Catalan lunch with a nice glass of Rioja to complete your day.
